301 Redirects and the GoogleBot

We recently moved our website from one domain, bossanovadesign.com to bossanovaWEBdesign.com. In order to redirect our traffic in an SEO-friendly manner, we used a 301 redirect.

A really good suggestion after doing this was found on RagePank.com’s site in this article. It involves writing a letter to the GoogleBot that lets it know that you have pages that should be re-indexed. Taking a tip from Harvey, we wrote a letter and are blatantly using this blog post as an excuse to post it. 🙂

Hi Googlebot,
We have this site we’re in the middle of optimizing, and we just changed the URL from bossanovadesign.com to bossanovawebdesign.com.

To avoid duplicate content issues, we have put a 301 redirect in place.

So Googlebot, could you be so kind as to check out our 301s on the following pages, and update your index?
